2009 Build-A-Thon (Day 4)

Day four proved to be a bit cooler with a thin layer of clouds overhead to protect participants on the final day. The energy on site was not suppressed by the heat from the previous days, and with an injection of fresh energy from new Build-A-Thon participants, the final day of the event was action-packed.

The day saw most of the homes take their final shape as second story exterior and interior walls were raised, and trusses were hoisted to the roof. "The progress that we've made over the last four days has been astounding," commented Chrissy Thomas, Construction Site Superintendent. "To see this site transform from 20 concrete foundations to 20 homes has been incredible."

It was also incredible to see the number of participants that had never volunteered with Habitat for Humanity before - some of which attended the event for all four days. Build-A-Thon veterans were happy to have the fresh excitement that these participants provided.

Habitat would like to thank all of the participants, sponsors, house leaders, crew leaders and support volunteers for helping make our largest Build-A-Thon a complete success. We are overwhelmed with the community support!
